Our way to
Sustainability

Chemical and health
Chemistry 4sustainability® protocol
To exercise a vigilant use of chemical substances in the production process, Lanificio Luigi Ricceri applies the 4sustainability® protocol for the implementation of MRSL ZDHC. The ZDHC MRSL is a list of chemical substances subject to a usage ban, which applies to chemicals used in facilities that process textile materials and trim parts for use in apparel. Eradicating toxic and harmful substances is vital to ensure minimal negative impact on the environment and human well-being.

Sustainability and environment
Fundamental certifications in the environmental area
Our choice to achieve the goal of sustainability is divided into fundamental steps, represented by the possession of numerous ethical manufacturing certifications.
Global Organic Textile Standard guarantees the application of an identification and traceability system in our supply chain, verifying the origin of the material, as well as stringent environmental and social responsibility requirements. Global Recycled Standard validated our fabrics that were made from recycled material (e.g. nylon, cashmere, etc...) and have been made in compliance with stringent environmental and social criteria. Forest Stewardship Council certification for our fabrics guarantees the traceable forest origin of the cellulose used for the production of viscose, and therefore not subject to the indiscriminate exploitation of the world’s forestry resources.
Lanificio Luigi Ricceri also follows the Nativa Protocol which verifies every step of the supply chain, from farm to brand, to animal welfare.
Animal Welfare
origin and cure of the animals
Being a luxury fabric mill working with alpaca, suri and other natural yarns, we choose our suppliers based on the ethical treatment of animals.
Therefore, if requested, we can provide our clients with certification of the origin and treatment of animals. Our wool comes from responsibly managed farms and is certified to the RWS standard, like alpaca RAS and the mohair RMS, in compliance with stringent requirements for animal welfare and reduced environmental impact.
We also respect the Nativa Protocol which validates animal treatment in our supply chain.
